Our client, a manufacturer and supplier of building materials to the retail and construction industry, is seeking a Mechanical Fitter  to join their team.

The purpose of the role is to maintain acceptable efficiency standards of the Plant and Machinery

Location: Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha

Job type: On-site – Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities

• Compliance with all EH & S guidelines and procedures.
• Maintain all mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Adhere to planned maintenance system
• Tend to breakdowns timeously
• Control on spares used
• Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
• Assist with projects i.e. alteration of machine/upgrades
• Repair pneumatic cylinders, valves and new installations and basic maintenance
• Housekeeping

Minimum Requirements

• N3 Mechanical/matric with Maths and Science
• Trade Test Certificate: Fitter or Electrician
• Minimum 2-4 years in production environment
• Working knowledge of electrical equipment and pneumatics

Skills

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Advanced practical knowledge of processes and safety.
• Advanced problem-solving skills
