The Role: Marketing and Social Media Assistant

This is a full-time, junior, hands-on, in-office role designed to support the Marketing Manager and work closely with a team that includes a Graphic Designer, Videographer, sales teams, and other departments. The position exists to assist with content planning, social media administration, community management, internal training-platform updates, event coordination, and general marketing activities across multiple brands.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply 2+ years of experience in a marketing, social media, content, or administrative support role to assist the Marketing Manager with planning monthly social media content calendars, researching trends, and keeping schedules updated.

• Write and adapt captions, social media copy, prepare briefs for creative teams, collect product information, and check content for accuracy and pricing before publication.

• Manage, schedule, and publish content daily on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp channels, while monitoring comments and responding to routine inquiries.

• Gather basic weekly and monthly social media statistics, maintain reporting spreadsheets, and track top-performing posts.

• Update and maintain the internal training platform by uploading videos, course materials, product info, and assessments.

• Plan and coordinate expos, trade shows, product launches, activations, and internal events using checklists, displays, and supplier liaison.

• Provide general marketing and administrative support for newsletters, website content, promotional materials, digital folders, and supplier assets.

• Utilize optional experience in e-commerce, retail, outdoor, optics, technology, basic Canva, basic photo/video editing, AI marketing tools, learning management systems, or event support to support team activities.

About You

• 2+ years of experience in a marketing, social media, content, or administrative support role.

• Familiarity with Facebook and Instagram, and basic experience using Meta Business Suite or another social media scheduling platform.

• Strong written and verbal communication, spelling, proofreading, and attention to detail.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Strong organizational, administrative, and multi-tasking abilities, with a proactive, adaptable, and deadline-driven mindset.

• Reliable transport to work in Somerset West and South African citizenship with a valid ID.

• Comfortable working with schedules, spreadsheets, following briefs, and taking direction from the Marketing Manager.

• Relevant qualification in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field is advantageous.

• Experience in e-commerce, retail, outdoor, optics, technology, basic Canva, basic photo/video editing, AI marketing tools, learning management systems, or event support is advantageous.
