Lodge Manager

SUMMARY:
A family resort and events venue in Hazyview, Mpumalanga is seeking an experienced and hands-on Lodge Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the property.
The successful candidate will be a strong all-round hospitality professional with solid maintenance knowledge, good housekeeping and F&B experience, and a strong understanding of reservations and online booking channels.
An Assistant Lodge Manager with strong potential, a confident personality and the right attitude will also be considered, with the opportunity to be upskilled into the role.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous lodge, resort, hotel or hospitality management experience
- Assistant Lodge Managers with strong potential may be considered
- Strong personality, leadership ability and confidence
- Strong practical maintenance knowledge and experience
- Good housekeeping management experience
- Good F&B operational experience
- Strong reservations knowledge and administration
- Experience with Booking.com and other online booking platforms
- Experience working with travel agents and managing agent relationships
- Excellent guest relations and communication skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Good financial and stock-control awareness
- Professional, hands-on and well presented
- Computer literate
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Flexible and willing to assist across all departments when required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the resort and venue
- Oversee guest arrivals, departures and overall guest experience
- Manage reservations, enquiries and online bookings
- Liaise with travel agents and booking platforms
- Monitor Booking.com and other relevant channels
- Oversee housekeeping standards and room inspections
- Manage F&B operations and service standards
- Oversee maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance
- Identify maintenance issues and ensure they are resolved timeously
- Manage staff, rosters, performance and daily operational requirements
- Conduct staff briefings and ensure clear communication
- Monitor stock, purchasing and departmental requirements
- Assist with budgeting, cost control and operational administration
- Coordinate accommodation and venue requirements for functions and events
- Handle guest complaints and resolve operational challenges professionally
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, service and safety
- Work closely with management, suppliers, agents and other stakeholders
- Be hands-on and assist wherever operationally required

PACKAGE:
- Salary: R25,000 per month
- Live-in accommodation provided
- Meals provided
