SUMMARY:
Our Client in the Corporate Legal Sector is in need of an energetic, innovative and dynamic Litigation Secretary to join their team in the Randburg Area.

POSITION INFO:

Key Requirements:

Experience in both High Court and Magistrates’ Court litigation is essential.
Knowledge of CIPC processes and Deceased Estates would be beneficial, though not a strict requirement.
Office administration experience will be advantageous.
Must meet the general competencies of a litigation secretary.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Drafting, formatting, and typing of legal documents (pleadings, notices, affidavits, contracts, and correspondence) from dictation, handwritten notes, or electronic copy.
Managing High Court and Magistrates’ Court litigation processes, including issuing, serving, and filing of documents.
Preparing and indexing briefs, trial bundles, and appeal records for counsel.
Maintaining and organising both physical and electronic filing systems.
Diary management, scheduling court dates, consultations, and meetings.
Liaising professionally with clients, counsel, sheriffs, and court officials.
Managing deadlines and ensuring compliance with court rules and procedures.
Opening and managing client files, including file indexing and proper record-keeping.
Assisting with general office administration where required (switchboard relief, stationery management, etc.).
Handling billing support, timesheets, and basic accounts administration where necessary.
Confidential record keeping and maintaining client trust.
