Lab Technician

SUMMARY:
The purpose of the position is to support the Laboratory by performing key responsibilities

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

 Sample Receipt

• carry out a range of routine technical and clerical duties within sample reception

• receive, identify and prepare for analysis all incoming samples / request forms entering the data accurately on the laboratory analysis report

Laboratory Support

• set up and assists with experiments for laboratory use according to prescribed procedures

• carry out a range of support duties in the laboratory

• document experimental data as directed

• document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books

• prepare chemical solutions or media

• any other duties assign by the Chief Chemist

Maintain the Management System

• comply with documented management system policies and procedures

• identify opportunities to improve the management system of the laboratory

• identify non-conformances and/or deviations from the management system and from procedures for the performance of laboratory activities

• assist in the investigation of identified non-conformances, establish the root cause and implement required corrective actions

• ensure good housekeeping in all test areas

Min Requirements

Diploma/ degree and or laboratory experience in a relevant Chemical field.

ISO/IEC 17025 (advantage)

GCMS experience required
