A leading Waste Management Company is seeking a Lab Supervisor for its operations in Delmas.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing and ensuring the proper maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory equipment to ensure to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Ensuring that all laboratory operations and procedures are in compliance with safety protocols and regulations to minimise the risk of accidents, injuries, and exposure to hazardous materials.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines relating to hazardous material handling, storage, testing and disposal.
- Monitoring and ensuring that projects, tests, and reports are delivered on time and within agreed-upon time.
- Monitoring and ensuring the accuracy and precision of sample testing, analysis, and reporting to maintain high-quality standard.
- Effectively managing and organising the laboratory team, including assigning task, providing guidance, coordinating schedules, and fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Identify opportunities to improve laboratory processes, workflows, and efficiency through the implementation of best practices and innovative methodologies.
- Provide operational support to the plant operators, troubleshooting process issues and collaborate with other department to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong knowledge of Laboratory techniques, equipment, and safe procedures.
- Significant experience working in a laboratory environment, with experience in waste management preferred
- Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment such as XRF, Gas Chromatography and spectrometers.
- Proficient in MS Office

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor''''s degree in a relevant field, such as Analytical chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Environmental science
- 3 - 5 years’ experience working in a laboratory environment
- Proven Supervisory experience
