Location: Bedfordview, Johannesburg
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: R13,500 – R17,500 per month, depending on experience and qualifications

ABOUT THE ROLE

A well-established law firm in Bedfordview is seeking a highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented Legal Practice / Office Administrator to oversee the smooth running of the practice.

The successful candidate will provide legal administration, client accounts/debtors, office management and general administrative support, working closely with attorneys, clients, suppliers and external legal service providers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Dictation typing and preparation of legal correspondence and documents
• Maintaining physical and electronic legal files and documentation
• Assisting attorneys with general legal administration
• Liaising with sheriffs, advocates, correspondent attorneys and other service providers
• Processing sheriff invoices, returns of service and advocate fee journals
• Managing debtor age analysis and following up on outstanding client accounts
• Preparing invoices, statements and remittances
• Handling client account queries and VAT-related queries
• Managing office supplies, suppliers, creditors and general office requirements
• Coordinating parking, building, telephone, fibre, internet and IT-related matters
• Managing incoming calls, emails and routine client enquiries
• Following up on outstanding administrative and operational matters

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous legal practice / legal office administration experience
• Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Be confident dealing with clients and external service providers
• Have experience with debtors, invoices and financial administration
• Be proactive, reliable and able to work independently
• Be professional and discreet when handling confidential information
• Have strong problem-solving and follow-through skills
