Key Account Manager – eThekwini Durban    

Salary: Market Related

 

Purpose of Position:

 

Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Key Account Manager based in Hammarsdale Durban Kwazulu Natal. This is a permanent position within the Sales & Marketing department. The responsibility to effectively represent the company to customers in such a way that they are consistently satisfied with our service, product offering and brand name, whilst achieving sales targets at agreed margins. Candidates must have their own transport as you would need to travel to clients. Ideally someone with a Passion and drive for Sales, commercial minded “savvy” (budgets, forecasting etc) and a strong desire for customer satisfaction at all times. Reporting to the National Sales Manager.

  • Manufacturing / Production background would be advantageous (sales, marketing, customer service representative etc)
  • Matric; Sales/Marketing Degree/Diploma.
  • Own Transport essential – Candidates must reside in Hammarsdale, Pinetown or surrounds
  • Ideally someone who is able to start towards the end of the August 2022 or sooner
  • 2 years office experience and 3 years sales experience.
  • Prior staff/team management - Manage and supervise the Sales Administrator
  • Internal Contacts: Design Studio, Planning, Customer Services, Product Development, Finance Department.
  • External Contacts: Customers

ü  Monitor stock reports - Optimise product sales and stock turn.

ü  Review stock reports - Minimise clearance stock holdings at acceptable margins 

ü  Order implementation exception reports - To ensure efficient resolution of customer problems whilst maintaining good customer relations.

ü  Knowledge of SANS 16001          

ü  Ensure issues are correctly dealt with.    

ü  HIV/AIDS Awareness & Counselling skills.             

ü  Meetings with planning and production.

ü  Forecast and stock reports - In order to ensure optimisation of systems, processes and protocols.          

ü  Knowledge of relevant IT information systems

ü  Ability to write and be able to interpret sales reports and analyze sales data.       

 

Duties:

 

  • Achieve sales targets at establish margins.
  • Ensure that orders and Contracts are secured and confirmed by customers.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with the customer buying team.
  • Continuously seek new business opportunities with key accounts and other customers where relevant.
  • Continuously assess client satisfaction or dissatisfaction and feedback to design and production teams via a combination of written and verbal reports.
  • Monitor competitive context by regular store assessment visits (min once a month) and report back to team.
  • Implement ad hoc marketing requests from clients such as signage, display bins, etc.
  • Manage merchandising companies as required.
  • Copy and distribute contact reports.
  • Complete and submit sample requisitions.
  • Drive the achievement of the key account sales budgets in terms of volume.
  • Negotiate trading terms, rebates and incentives in respect of future promotions.
  • Forecast, budget and track account revenues and cost.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly sales margins and goals.
  • Monitor and optimise trade spend investment and complete ROI analysis.
  • Prepare files/agendas for customer visits to site with all relevant info on loadings, prices, previous correspondence sent, etc
  • Maintain updated customer files.
  • Keep up to date with product fashion trends and present to key accounts
  • Participate in new product development with production and design activities through preparation of product brief in discussion with the client.
  • Brief customer requirements to Design department. Based on Design department response re-brief if changes required.
  • Obtain customer acceptance of new product or design.
  • Initiate PDA with full product specification.
  • Confirm new PDA details with customer.
  • Liaise with customer regarding product development exception reports and resolve.
  • Advise Customer Services of new products and promotions as and when required.
  • Ensure accurate stock control for relevant products.
  • Maintain good stock levels.
  • Be aware of and address exception reports from Production Planning.
  • Ascertain clearance list or re-negotiate deal, with customers where relevant.
  • Liaise on clearances/rejects on a weekly basis for movement to factory shop.
  • Transfer stock to clearance requisition for authorisation.
  • On receipt of exception reports from Sales Planning or Customer Services, ensure that the necessary action is taken to resolve the exception and/or advise Customers.
  • Where necessary, assist in resolving customer exception issues such as late deliveries, incomplete orders, etc.
  • Promote HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, tolerance and respect within the Company.
  • Attend relevant meetings.
  • Monitor customer call off of stock in terms of quantities and dates.
  • Liaise with customers regarding deviations from the agreed call-offs.
  • Ensure up-to-date an accurate compliance with administrative requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date reporting as scheduled and provide ad hoc reports as required.
  • Type meeting minutes and distribute
  • Type general correspondence, including price quotes.
