Junior Hotel Receptionist

POSITION INFO:

A well-established hotel known for its warm hospitality and personalized guest experience. As the first point of contact, our receptionist should embody a polished, professional, and welcoming front-of-house presence. Please note only candidates with previous hotel or guesthouse reception experience will be considered. Start date - ASAP.

Candidate Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

1. Valid Driver’s License

• Must be a confident and competent driver
• Practical driving ability essential

2. Own Reliable Transport

• Cannot rely on public transport (shift work)
• Must be able to travel after 9pm

3. Location

• Must live in Kuilsriver or surrounding areas
• Acceptable areas: Bellville, Brackenfell, Kuilsriver
• Within ±20km radius only

4. Professional Appearance – HIGH PRIORITY

• Corporate, polished, well-groomed presentation required
• Professional FOH grooming standard
• Neat, classic corporate look
• This is a first-impression / guest-facing position
  
  

5. Age Range

• 25 – 40 (client preference)

6. Language

• Fluent in English
• Fluent in Afrikaans

• Excellent communication and guest-interaction skills
• Professional, polished front-of-house presence
• Customer-focused with strong problem-solving ability
• Calm and diplomatic in difficult situations
• Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment preferred
• Strong administrative skills (typing, email handling, reservations)
• Confident, well-spoken, warm personality
• Ability to multitask and manage a busy front desk
• Strong attention to detail

Working Hours

• Must be willing to work shifts
• Weekends and public holidays included

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome and assist guests
• Manage check-in and check-out process efficiently
• Handle guest queries and provide relevant information
• Answer phone calls and emails professionally
• Maintain accurate reservation and guest records
• Provide on-site shuttle service to restaurant/tasting centre
• Assist with basic bar service when needed

Salary:

• Please advise expectation on application - this is a Junior Role
• 6 off days per month
• 21 days annual leave
