About the Company

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

Technical Process Support

• Support the industrialisation and maintenance of production processes to ensure efficient and sustainable operations.
• Gather, analyse, and interpret production and engineering data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in maintaining machine reliability and production uptime.
• Monitor production operations and implement corrective actions to maintain product quality standards.
• Support scrap and waste reduction initiatives.
• Identify process-related issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Ensure equipment is utilised effectively in accordance with company policies and production objectives.
• Assist with the implementation of new systems, technologies, and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation, process records, and project reports.
• Provide support and guidance to production, setting, and maintenance teams when required.

Inventory & Resource Management

• Monitor technical consumables, equipment, and engineering-related inventory.
• Assist with sourcing and procurement of engineering materials and technical supplies.
• Ensure resources are available to support maintenance and engineering activities.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
• Promote safe working practices and identify potential hazards.
• Maintain housekeeping standards within engineering and production areas.
• Report accidents, incidents, and near-miss events promptly.

Quality & Food Safety

• Adhere to company quality standards and procedures.
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Support Food Safety Management System (FSMS) requirements where applicable.
• Report food safety risks or concerns immediately.

Continuous Improvement & Development

• Participate in engineering improvement projects.
• Research and recommend technical innovations and best practices.
• Build technical knowledge through training, supplier engagement, and self-development.
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.

Experience

• 2–5 years' relevant engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to production processes, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience within packaging, plastics, or FMCG manufacturing environments will be advantageous.

Technical Knowledge

• Understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Basic fault-finding and equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, raw materials, and production systems.
• Understanding of quality management systems and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.
