Junior Contracts Manager

POSITION INFO:

Our client is searching for a Junior Contracts Manager to join their team in Kempton Park.

Duties:

Planning and execution

• Read and understand the scope and duties on site

• Observe specific contract conditions

• Assist in preparing and maintaining the internal order for site resources, materials, equipment, etc., for review by the Contracts Manager.

• Prepare and maintain the site contract program

• Provide updates to the Contracts Manager regarding allowables on site

• Manage site, crew, time and resources within defined parameters

• Record additional work required by the client

• Liaise and maintain client relationships

• Report weekly on progress and costs to the Contracts Manager

• Attend site meetings

• Implement and maintain filing system and company documentation

• Compile reports as requested by the Contracts Manager

Health and Safety

• Ensure that all contractual medicals are done before the commencement of the project.

• Ensure that Induction has been completed where relevant

• Promote health and safety and ensure compliance with the OHSA Act

Financial

• Provide feedback on weekly costs

• Assist in preparing cash flow input and payment certificates for review and approval by the Contracts Manager.

• Ensure that all non-budgeted costs are properly identified, classified, well documented, and variations are recorded.

Policies and procedures

• Ensure that crew adheres to all internal and external policies and procedures

QA / QC

• Ensure adherence to Quality Plan

• Maintain quality documentation

• Meet the company's standard requirements

• Meet contract-specific requirements

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum N/Dip (Civil Engineering) or similar

• Proficient in MS Office and MS Project

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• +-3-5 Years' experience as a Site Agent, with demonstrated readiness to progress into contract management, or

• 1-2 years' experience in a Junior/Assistant Contracts Manager capacity

• Working knowledge of the Health and Safety Legislation and application thereof on Site
