POSITION INFO:

We are recruiting for a Junior Buyer to join a growing defence and engineering manufacturer based in Centurion. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who has strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will support procurement activities, liaise with suppliers, and ensure efficient purchasing processes in a fast-paced technical environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Source and compare quotations from local and international suppliers
Place and follow up on purchase orders
Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and components
Assist in evaluating supplier performance and maintaining good supplier relationships
Track and manage stock levels and inventory
Support senior procurement staff with ad hoc administrative and operational tasks

Experience and Qualifications

1–2 years’ experience in a procurement, sales, or purchasing support role
A relevant diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Business (advantageous)
Strong administrative and communication skills
Able to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
Must have own reliable transport
Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
Experience in a technical or manufacturing environment will be an advantage
