POSITION INFO:

Key responsibilities:

Daily bank reconciliations: Capture and reconcile all transactions, ensuring accuracy between the bank statement and company records.
Cashbook management: Maintain cashbooks and ensure the legitimacy and correctness of all bank payments and receipts.
Debtor receipts allocation: Accurately allocate daily debtor receipts and update systems to keep records current.
Supplier account management: Manage and record supplier invoices, ensuring proper coding to the general ledger and business unit.
EFT preparation: Prepare weekly EFT packs for review by management and process EFT payments on time.
Month-end journals: Assist with month-end journals assigned by management, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
Ad-hoc bookkeeping functions: Support finance transformation tasks and address any additional duties as needed.

Job requirements:

Matric: A must for this role, providing a strong educational foundation.
Experience: 3+ years in a similar position, with hands-on experience in bank reconciliations and cashbook management.
Finance qualification: While not essential, any finance-related qualification will be considered an advantage.
Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting. You must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with key business stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Work ethic: A self-starter with a strong ability to manage time, priorities, and deadlines effectively. You’ll be expected to approach every task with a strong drive for accuracy and excellence.

The proposed salary for the role is R25k - R28 per month - the final offer will depend on qualifications, experience and skills.
