SUMMARY:
Junior Bookkeeper

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to support the finance team with day-to-day cashbook and supplier account functions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and supporting cash flow management to ensure smooth financial operations.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Process and capture daily bank transactions
Maintain and reconcile cashbooks to bank statements
Monitor and report daily bank balances
Allocate and capture debtor receipts
Prepare and process weekly EFT payment packs
Capture and allocate supplier invoices accurately
Maintain and reconcile supplier accounts
Capture and allocate credit card transactions
Assist with month-end journals and finance reporting
Upload and process refund files where required
Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded to the correct GL accounts
Assist with ad hoc finance duties as required

Minimum Requirements

Matric
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar bookkeeping role
Finance qualification (advantageous)
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with cashbook and supplier reconciliations

Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Good organisational and time management skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Strong administrative capability
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Proactive, self-motivated, and a team player

Working Environment

Office-based role
Fast-paced finance environment with exposure to multiple financial processes
