Junior Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
Location: (On-site – no remote)
Salary: R17,000 – R18,000 per month

Our client, a retail-based business, is seeking a Junior Bookkeeper to join their small and dynamic finance team. This role works closely with the Financial Manager and is ideal for someone hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Monday, Wednesday to Friday: 08h30 – 17h30
• Tuesday: 08h00 – 17h30

  💼 Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience
  • Sage Evolution (essential)
  • Sage Online experience
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to speak Afrikaans
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

  📊 Key Responsibilities:

  Daily:

  • Assist Financial Manager with bank statement capturing & allocations
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Manage credit notes and client refunds
    • Allocate payments and resolve debtor queries
    • Prepare daily incoming payment reports for sales team
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Capture purchase orders
    • Track deliveries and orders
    • Allocate supplier payments
    • Process GRVs
  • Cash Handling:
    • Maintain petty cash
    • Cash reconciliations and float management
    • Weekly float prep for sales team

  Weekly:

  • Assist with bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile and prepare weekly payables
  • Distribute wages (workshop staff)
  • Prepare remittances
  • Process weekend wages (2 entities)
  • Order office supplies
  • Capture workshop purchase orders

  Monthly:

  • Debtor statements & reconciliations
  • Debt collection
  • Rental invoicing & management
  • Leave record management

  Additional Duties:

  • HR administrative support
  • Liaising with Sage support on queries
