SUMMARY:
A well-established company based in Johannesburg is looking for a dedicated and experienced Bookkeeper to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full bookkeeping function and ensuring accurate financial record keeping.

POSITION INFO:
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Capturing and reconciling bank statements
Performing monthly bank and supplier reconciliations
Preparing and posting journal entries
Managing petty cash and company expenses
Maintaining the general ledger
Assisting with VAT calculations and submissions
Preparing monthly financial reports and assisting with management accounts
Maintaining accurate financial documentation and records
Assisting with year-end financial preparation and audit requirements
Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders when required

Requirements

Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance
Minimum of 3–5 years’ bookkeeping experience
Experience working with accounting systems such as Sage, Pastel, or QuickBooks
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Good understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial controls
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
