Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant

This role is highly executionâdriven, focused on ensuring accurate month-end reporting, rigorous balance sheet reconciliations, and seamless intercompany transaction management. The ideal candidate is handsâon, detailâoriented, and able to deliver consistent financial accuracy without relying on senior leadership for escalation or oversight. This is not a traditional Finance Manager position. Instead, it requires someone who thrives on ownership, precision, reconciliation discipline, and independent problemâsolving to drive stability and strengthen financial operations across the group.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Performing bank reconciliations
Reconciling supplier (creditor and debtor) accounts
Preparing simple monthâend journals (e.g., depreciation, accruals) under supervision
Preparing VAT schedules and assisting with VAT return submissions
Completing monthâend checklists and organising supporting documents
Loading or capturing payments into banking platforms for approval
Ensuring payment documentation is complete and compliant
Reconciling cashbook entries to bank statements
Monitoring cash inflows and outflows and updating Excel cashflow trackers where required
Maintaining accurate, organised financial and filing systems
Assisting senior accountants with trial balance preparation
Supporting audit requests by providing documents and reconciliations
Processing payroll data for submission (typically not handling payroll endâtoâend)
Extracting basic reports (age analysis, trial balance, supplier listings)

Experience:

3+ years experience
Degree (advantageous, but not a requirement)

Skills:

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
Proficiency in capturing financial transactions accurately
Experience with bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance
Ability to prepare and reconcile supplier (creditor) and customer (debtor) accounts
Knowledge of VAT calculations and support for VAT submissions
Ability to prepare basic journals under supervision
Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge
