POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description:
My client is seeking a detail-oriented and deadline-driven Junior Accountant to join their Finance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for posting journal entries, preparing financial statements, and maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts receivable and payable.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain detailed General Ledger records for relevant branches up to Trial Balance
Process journals, update GL reconciliations, and supporting calculations
Manage General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cash Book close processes
Liaise with stakeholders to ensure sub-modules are ready for closure
Capture ad hoc telecom invoices (e.g. Vodacom, Telkom) in Accounts Payable
Oversee cash book processes and resolve related queries
Manage Fixed Asset Register (FAR) and CAPEX processes, including depreciation and disposals
Perform monthly VAT reconciliation
Circulate monthly debtor statements
Prepare daily sales reports
Conduct financial analysis and provide variance commentary
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
Support internal and external audit processes
Prepare budgets for allocated branches
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Perform ad hoc reporting and additional duties as required

Job Experience and Skills Required:
BCom Degree in Accounting
2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills required)
Syspro experience will be advantageous
