SUMMARY:
JUNIOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

POSITION INFO:

 Location: Germiston

 Salary: R20 000

 Position Type: Permanent

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Junior Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance department with electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and preventative maintenance activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This opportunity is ideal for a recently qualified Millwright / Electrical / Mechatronics candidate looking to grow and gain valuable industry experience.

Minimum Requirements:

* Minimum Qualification: Electrical / Millwright / Mechatronics

* Millwright Trade Test with limited or no post-trade experience

* Relevant experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems and controls

* Working knowledge of PLC and HMI systems

* Coding experience will be advantageous

* Must have own reliable transport

* Must reside within 30km of Driehoek, Germiston

* Must be willing to work overtime, shifts, and standby duties

Required Skills:

* Basic computer literacy

* Working knowledge of PLC and HMI systems

* Exposure to maintenance systems and reporting tools advantageous

* Basic Microsoft Office proficiency advantageous

* Basic understanding of diagnostic and fault-finding tools advantageous

* Strong problem-solving skills

* Ability to work under pressure

* Safety-conscious and self-driven attitude

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform maintenance tasks allocated by the Maintenance Supervisor

* Assist with electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs

* Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment

* Ensure minimal production downtime during maintenance activities

* Assist with installation of new plant, machinery, and equipment

* Respond promptly to breakdowns and equipment failures

* Maintain excellent housekeeping and safe working standards

* Ensure compliance with company policies and Health & Safety regulations

* Perform overtime, shift, and standby duties when required

* Assist Management with additional projects and maintenance tasks as needed
