Invoicing Clerk

POSITION INFO:

A well known FMCG company based in Kempton Park is looking for an Invoicing Clerk.

An invoicing clerk''s duties primarily revolve around managing invoices, ensuring accuracy in billing and payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. They process invoices, reconcile discrepancies, and support both accounts payable and receivable functions. Additionally, they may handle customer inquiries and payment issues, and prepare reports.

Key duties includes:

Invoice Processing and Management:

Creating and Sending Invoices: Preparing and sending invoices to customers, verifying accuracy of billing information.
Verifying and Reconciling Invoices: Ensuring invoices are accurate against purchase orders, contracts, or other relevant documents.
Data Entry: Entering invoice data into the company''s accounting system.
Maintaining Records: Keeping detailed records of invoices and payments.

Payment Processing and Management:

Calculating and Recording Payments: Calculating amounts due and recording payments received.
Handling Discrepancies and Disputes: Resolving any issues or disputes related to invoices or payments.
Following Up on Outstanding Payments: Contacting customers about outstanding payments.

Communication and Administration:

Communicating with Vendors and Customers: Resolving discrepancies and answering questions.
Generating Invoice Reports: Creating reports for analysis and decision-making.
Assisting with Month-End Closing: Supporting the accounting team with month-end procedures.

Minimum qualifications and experience

Matric plus a commercial tertiary qualification is essential
At least 3 years in billing & invoicing in a financial envrionment
Must be computer literate (MS Office)
Experience with an accounting or billing software is an added advantage
Must be able to communicate
