Inventory Controller

SUMMARY:
A well-known and established International Chemical Manufacturing Company requires the above to ensure adequate levels of stock are available to meet daily production demands whilst minimising excess supply and controlling packaging and stock damages.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Minimum Grade 12 with Maths and Science is essential.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Operations or Logistics or related field is preferred.
• Previous experience having worked as a Warehouse or Inventory / Stock Supervisor or related within the Chemical or Packaging or related markets is preferred for the role.
• The successful candidate must be computer literate and must be competent in SAP.
• The successful candidate must have inventory management experience and be able to work under pressure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Supervising the dispatch warehouse operation at the production facility, doing stock control and resolving day to day operational issues.
• Overseeing inventory and supply chain management according to Company guidelines.
• Performing critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct number of items are in stock.
• Maintaining updated and accurate records of inventory.
• Reviewing documentation and monitoring product codes to search for discrepancies by troubleshooting quantity discrepancies between stock and records.
• Developing and implementing improvements to existing operational procedures in order to maximise efficiency and cut operations costs.
• Reviewing operations schedules and production requirements to ensure timely order fulfilment.
• Tracking rates of accuracy, returns as well as defective items to inform quality control decisions.
• Preparing, generating and filing financial inventory reports and reviewing reports monthly with Management.
• Ensuring that all finished goods damages at the plant warehouse are minimised and brought to the attention of the Production Manager.
• Ensuring that all stock damages in the PMP and small packs facilities are minimised and brought to the attention of the Production Manager.
• Investigating all incidents of stock damages immediately and reporting findings to the Production Manager.
• Ensuring that good housekeeping practice in plant warehouse locations is always complied with in accordance with the 5S programme.
• Complying and enforcing site safety rules in all production and warehouse facilities.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
