Gijima is recruiting 1 x HR Intern for their head office in Midrand. This is a structured internship designed to grow a recent HR graduate into a fully capable Human Resources Officer. Working alongside the HR Business Partner and the wider HR team, the intern will provide day-to-day recruitment and HR administration support while building the practical experience, systems knowledge and legislative grounding needed to progress into the HR Officer role.

POSITION INFO:
The criteria are as follows

Candidates must have completed a HR / Human Resource Management diploma or degree (Industrial Psychology or related also considered).
Candidates must be computer literate and must be proficient in the MS Office Suite, Microsoft Project, e-mail, internet
No criminal record
Must currently be unemployed.
Must not be participating on another learnership or internship program
Must live in Gauteng (preferably in the Midrand area) – relocation is NOT an option;
Must be under the age of 35 as of 1 July 2026
Must be a South African Citizen – African, Coloured, Indian

Competencies/Skills Required

Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
B Basic working knowledge of SA labour legislation (LRA, BCEA)
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills
SAP exposure advantageous — full training provided.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment Support
- Posting job adverts
- Screening CVs and shortlisting
- Arrange required checks (background, reference etc.)
- Prepare recruitment status reports
- Draft offer and regret correspondence
HR Administration
- Organise and maintain personnel records
- Prepare HR documents
- Provide accurate, timely input to payroll and assist with queries
- Compile routine HR reports (leave, contracts, headcount)
- Assist with exit interviews
- Assist the HRBP and HR team with ad hoc HR projects
