SUMMARY:
Location: Westmead, Durban, KZN, South Africa
Department: Sales and Customer Service
Career level: 2-4 years in the lighting industry
Reporting Line: Reports to the Branch Manager

Purpose:
Our client provides industrial and commercial lighting solutions to distributors and retailers across South Africa and into Africa. As the team grows, they are looking to appoint an experienced customer service-oriented individual with technical acumen to take in and close out sales at the branch. This role is suited to both males and females with the necessary background and experience.

Responsibilities include:

Raising of quotations, invoices and credit notes.
Telesales and customer liaison.
Checking stock before dispatching to customers, and receiving from suppliers.
Making necessary logistics and transportation delivery arrangements.
Managing vehicle maintenance (keeping track of licensing and service records, and bookings).
Reconciliation of sample accounts/cash sale accounts.
Liaising with the Marketing coordinator to keep track of marketing material supplied to the customer.

Qualifications and Experience:

Matric.
2 to 4 years of related experience in an industrial and commercial lighting environment.
Bilingual (English and Afrikaans).
Proficiency in Pastel Partner or Sage Evolution is advantageous.
Must be a South African citizen with a valid ID and a clear criminal history.
A valid driver's licence is essential.

Behavioural Skills:

Highly organised and efficient, with strong attention to detail and the ability to build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
Comfortable working to deadlines and targets, confident handling telephonic pricing and product conversations, and able to communicate clearly in both English and Afrikaans.
A reliable, hands-on team player who takes ownership of tasks from start to finish.

Notes:

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08h00 to 16h30. On-site.
Remuneration: Commensurate with experience + incentives on target sales.
Commencement date: 01 October 2026 or soon thereafter.
