SUMMARY:
We are recruiting an experienced Infrastructure Draughtsperson to support current and upcoming mining, infrastructure and industrial projects at our Global EPCM client. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality civil and infrastructure drawings and models using AutoCAD Civil 3D, ensuring compliance with project standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.

The role requires a self-motivated individual with strong technical drafting capabilities, experience in multidisciplinary project environments, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and project teams.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications

National Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering, Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice, or equivalent qualification.
AutoCAD Civil 3D certification will be advantageous.

Experience

5 to 12 years' experience as a Civil / Infrastructure Draughtsperson.
Proven experience (3 to 5 years) using AutoCAD Civil 3D in consulting engineering, mining, & infrastructure projects.
Experience producing detailed design drawings from conceptual through construction stages.
Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering project teams.

Technical Skills
Proficiency in:

AutoCAD Civil 3D
AutoCAD
Surface modelling and terrain analysis
Road and access route design
Site grading and earthworks modelling
Stormwater and drainage layouts
Bulk earthworks and infrastructure design documentation
Utility corridor layouts
Drawing management and document control practices

Key Responsibilities

Produce and maintain civil and infrastructure drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Develop and manage surface models, alignments, profiles, corridors, and grading designs.
Prepare:

Site layouts
General arrangement drawings
Road and drainage drawings
Earthworks plans
Service layouts
Construction drawings

Coordinate drawing information with engineering disciplines.
Ensure drawings comply with company drafting standards and project procedures.
Participate in design reviews and model coordination sessions.
Assist with quantity take-offs and drawing revisions.
Maintain drawing registers and document control requirements.

Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should:

Have 5 to 12 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrate strong Civil 3D modelling and drafting capabilities.
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Possess strong communication and coordination skills.
Have experience within mining, mineral processing & infrastructure.
Be detail-oriented and committed to delivering quality work within project deadlines.

Additional Requirements

South African citizenship or valid work authorization.
Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
Experience working in a BIM or 3D design environment.
Familiarity with project document management systems such as Autodesk Vault, ProjectWise, ACC, or SharePoint will be beneficial.
