SUMMARY:
A rapidly growing company in the ICT / Telecommunications sector seeks a meticulous and systems orientated thinker to plan, implement and provide technical support to end users and colleagues alike.
The ICT / Telecommunications Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, installation and support of Telecoms equipment and Software (remote and on site).
Experience in VOIP is a must and strong Asterisk skills are an absolute requirement.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical support to clients:

  • Identifying hardware and software solutions.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults.
  • Resolving network issues.
  • Installing and configuring hardware and software.
  • Communicating with customers to quickly identify the root cause of their problem.
  • Providing timely and accurate customer feedback.
  • Talking customers through a series of actions to resolve a problem.
  • Following up with clients to ensure the problem is resolved.
  • Replacing or repairing the necessary hardware and software.
  • Supporting the rollout of new software, hardware and applications.
  • Providing support in the form of procedural documentation.
  • Managing multiple cases at one time.
  • Updating and maintaining constant feedback within company reporting tools/software.
  • Responsible for telephonic support.
  • Responsible for remote support.
  • Responsible for general electronic communication support (Email, CRM)
  • Responsible for the on-site support.
 
Technical support to employees / Organization:
  • Responsible for providing support in the form of procedural documentation.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining constant feedback within company reporting tools/software.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining open communication.
  • Responsible for testing and evaluating new technologies.
  • Responsible for supporting colleagues with resolution of queries and faults for customers and internal organizational support.
  • Responsible for helping company to reduce operational and IT cost.
  • Responsible for resolving support queries and faults on time.
  • Responsible for timely and continued feedback on all projects, support related tickets and internal queries.
  • Assisting staff with queries and/or faults.
  • Assisting in improving company’s products.
  • Responsible for technical consultation and documentation on all existing, future and upgrade implementation and solutions.
  • Responsible for upselling and promoting the company’s products whilst interacting with clients out in the field.
