SUMMARY:
A vacancy for a Human Resource (HR) Assistant has become available in our Johannesburg office. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacancy. The successful candidate will report to the HR Manager and HR Officers.

The purpose of the job:

The successful HR Assistant will be based in the HR department to assist the team with providing admin support.

Experience and Skills:

The candidate must have:

  • Have a qualification in HR.
  • A minimum of 6 years experience as an HR Administrator / Assistant.
  • Have excellent administration and organisational skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office is essential.
  • Experience in the onboarding process.
  • Experience in training and skills development.
  • Have a positive attitude.
  • Be a strong team player.
  • Have solid/strong ethics and values.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Be very organized and efficient.
  • Have excellent communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the HR team with all HR administration.
  • Assist with record-keeping of training.
  • Assist with coordination of candidacy programme documents to be submitted every quarter to the CETA.
  • Assist with scheduling the quarterly mentorship meetings between candidates, mentors and HR.
  • Coordinate the interview process with candidates and internal staff.
  • Conduct references of candidates.
  • Maintain files for new employees.
  • Keeping all personnel files updated manually and electronically.
  • Update personal detail schedule of all compulsory documentation, ensuring that personnel files are ISO compliant.
  • Archive old personnel files.
  • Set up probation review meetings for new starters.
  • Drafting of HR-related letters.
  • Assist with the collection of all BBBEE documentation.
  • Responsible for collecting HR-related information for tenders.
  • Assist with the compilation of HR reports.
  • Responsible for any H&S / First aid duties.
  • Responsible for minute taking at meetings when required.
  • Responsible for purchase orders and record-keeping of all HR related payments.
  • Assist with leave, policy or other HR-related queries.
  • Responsible for the coordination of special events.
  • Assist with HR overflow and other duties as required.
