SUMMARY:
We are recruiting an experienced Hotel Houseman for a busy 4-star hotel in Cape Town.
Candidates must be reliable, physically fit and able to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout the hotel.
Previous hotel housekeeping experience is essential.

POSITION INFO:
Critical Criteria (Requirements)

Grade 12 certificate required
Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role is advantageous but not essential
Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Good time management, organizational skills, and professional attitude
South African citizen with a valid ID

Key Competencies

Cleaning & Maintenance – Ensure public areas, corridors, lobbies, restrooms, and back-of-house spaces are clean, sanitized, and well-presented
Health, Safety & Hygiene – Follow all health, hygiene, and safety procedures, using chemicals and equipment correctly
Guest Service & Support – Assist housekeeping and other departments to maintain a positive guest experience
Team Collaboration – Work effectively with housekeeping staff and support supervisors in completing tasks efficiently
Inventory Assistance – Monitor cleaning supply levels and handle equipment carefully to minimize loss or damage

Duties & Responsibilities

Clean and maintain public areas, corridors, lobbies, restrooms, and back-of-house spaces according to hotel standards
Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and sanitize surfaces to ensure hygiene and presentation
Empty trash bins and ensure proper disposal of waste
Follow all health, hygiene, and safety procedures while performing duties
Report any hazards, maintenance issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor
Assist housekeeping and other departments as needed to maintain a positive guest experience
Support other housekeeping staff to ensure smooth daily operations
Monitor cleaning supply levels and report shortages
Handle equipment and supplies with care to prevent loss or damage
Uphold the hotel’s values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity
