HR Coordinator
This role forms part of the Village n Life Human Resources team, based at Pezula Nature Retreat, Knysna.
THE ROLE
As HR Coordinator, you'll be responsible for coordinating day-to-day HR activities at Pezula Nature Retreat, working closely with departmental managers and the broader Village n Life HR team.
We're looking for a practical, organised HR professional who understands hotel operations, communicates confidently with employees at all levels and can work independently while maintaining consistent HR standards.
You'll support recruitment, employee administration, employee relations and compliance, ensuring managers and staff receive reliable HR support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate employee administration, contracts and staff records.
Manage onboarding, employee changes and offboarding documentation.
Support recruitment, reference checks and staff inductions.
Prepare disciplinary and grievance documentation and assist with employee relations procedures.
Monitor attendance, leave, absenteeism and related administration.
Maintain accurate HR systems, registers and compliance records.
Coordinate payroll information and employee changes with the Payroll team.
Support training administration, statutory reporting and HR audits.
Assist departmental managers with HR procedures and employee matters.
Ensure adherence to company policies and South African labour legislation.
Assist the General Manager with administrative functions.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Grade 12 / Matric
Relevant HR qualification preferred
3–5 years' experience in HR administration or coordination
Previous HR experience in a hotel environment essential
Practical experience in employee relations and disciplinary procedures
Working knowledge of South African labour legislation, particularly the BCEA and LRA
Experience with HR systems, attendance and leave administration
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Excellent organisational skills, accuracy and discretion
Confident communication skills and the ability to work independently
