Food & Beverage Supervisor

We are looking for a Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our team in Newlands, Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who is passionate about service excellence, enjoys working with people, and has the confidence to lead a team in a dynamic, upmarket environment.
The successful candidate will assist in overseeing the restaurant outlets, ensuring that service standards are consistently maintained, operations run smoothly, and every guest receives attentive, personalised service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain high food and beverage service standards to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
• Engage with guests and respond promptly to feedback, requests, and individual preferences.
• Oversee the smooth flow of restaurant service while maintaining hygiene, health, and safety standards.
• Ensure restaurant outlets are fully prepared, well-stocked, clean, and ready for service.
• Monitor daily operations and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Train, motivate, supervise, and support staff to maintain a high-performing team.
• Monitor staff performance and conduct, providing guidance and feedback where required.
• Work closely with other hotel departments to ensure seamless coordination of restaurant services.
• Assist with the planning and execution of restaurant-related events and functions.
• Promote a positive guest experience while maintaining the hotel's service standards and reputation.

Requirements:

• Hospitality qualification from an accredited academic institution at NQF Level 5–7.
• Minimum 1 year of restaurant experience within a 4/5-star or upmarket establishment.
• WSET Level 1 will be advantageous.
• Excellent knowledge of food and beverages, including cocktails, wines, and spirits.
• Experience working on Micros.
• Proficiency in MS365.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong selling and guest engagement skills.
• Client-focused with a genuine passion for hospitality and service excellence.
• Ability to remain organised and perform effectively under pressure.
• Strong planning, cooperation, feedback, and results-oriented abilities.
• Clean credit check.
• Satisfactory criminal record, subject to assessment of the nature, severity, relevance, and recency of any offence.
