Fixed Asset Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our client with a national footprint (and growing rapidly) if looking for an experienced fixed asset accountant. You are a person that understands process and does not shy away in correcting the way the team has been doing things. This is  FULL fixed asset lifecycle role from labelling to the accounting. POSITION INFO:

Maintain accurate records of all fixed assets in the general ledger.
Ensure proper accounting treatment for acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.
Calculate and record depreciation and amortisation in accordance with accounting standards.
Conduct regular asset reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Coordinate and execute annual or periodic physical asset verification.
Maintain proper tagging, documentation, and safeguarding of company assets.
Implement and enforce internal controls over assets to mitigate risk.
Support financial oversight
Work closely with operations and project teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.
Provide financial insights relating to asset utilisation and lifecycle planning.
Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and accounting regulations.
Collaborate with the Commercial Accounting Lead and other finance teams to provide operational support
Monitor and analyse key cost categories
Translate FP&A insights into actionable operational strategies

Skills & Experience:
In-depth knowledge of depreciation, amortisation, and statutory compliance
Experience working with ERP systems such as Business Central, SAP, Oracle, or similar
Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage high volumes of transactions in a fast-paced environment
Prior experience in a multi-unit or multi-entity business environment is advantageous
Extensive travel requirements
Project experience

Qualification:
Degree and minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
