SUMMARY:
A large company in the Food Milling environment has an opportunity for a qualified Fitter with FMCG experience. The main responsibility of this position is to carry out routine and preventative maintenance for all allocated plant and equipment, machinery, and facilities, and the machining of components and spares.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

Qualified Trade Certificate in Fitting & Turning
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of plant maintenance experience
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of turning and machining experience
Forklift driver's license advantageous
Experience in a manufacturing and food manufacturing environment advantageous
Experience with tool and parts management
Experience in ARC, TIG and MIG welding advantageous
Maintain plant equipment
Perform plant maintenance during the shutdown period
Understand and interpret new drawings and manuals
Install new machines and equipment as and when instructed
Respond to emergency machine breakdowns throughout the plant
Do regular inspections of plant equipment
Give feedback to the Maintenance Engineer on breakdown root cause analyses
Attend to all relevant breakdowns during standby period
Complete DMS work orders and the work order book to keep a record of work completed
Apply for parts by making use of the requisition procedure
Operate the lathe and milling machine to manufacture parts and spares
