SUMMARY:
Join a market-leading JSE-listed FMCG organisation in a Financial Accountant role that offers broad exposure across head office finance operations. Working closely with key stakeholders, you will play an integral role in financial reporting, payroll, treasury management, compliance, and budgeting activities while contributing to the overall financial health of the business. This opportunity is well suited to a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to enhance their technical expertise and commercial understanding within a large corporate environment

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:

Maintain accurate and complete financial records, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and supporting schedules
Prepare and review monthly journal entries, including accruals, provisions, depreciation, payroll allocations, and prepayments
Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances where required
Coordinate month-end reporting activities and compile management reporting packs for leadership review
Administer the payroll function, including processing, reconciliations, and related financial accounting activities
Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and statutory requirements, including EMP201, EMP501, UIF, and SARS submissions
Oversee accounts payable activities, including supplier reconciliations, payment runs, and approval processes
Monitor accounts receivable balances, collections, and reporting to support effective working capital management
Manage cashbook transactions, bank reconciliations, and short- to medium-term cash flow forecasting
Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances across multiple entities within the group
Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee depreciation calculations, asset controls, and capital expenditure reporting
Support indirect tax compliance through VAT calculations, submissions, and audit readiness activities
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and the strengthening of internal control processes
Provide guidance and support to finance administrators while partnering with the Group Financial Manager on strategic and ad hoc initiatives

Skills & Experience:

5–8 years' experience in a Financial Accounting role
Exposure to FMCG, manufacturing, shared services, or multi-entity environments would be advantageous
Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting standards, and balance sheet reconciliations
Practical experience with payroll accounting, VAT compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and statutory reporting requirements
Excellent analytical abilities with a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and consistently meet reporting deadlines

Qualification:
SAIPA designation or completed SAIPA/SAICA articles
