Finance Manager - Healthcare Sector | West Rand, Johannesburg

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Manage and oversee the full finance function.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Deliver management accounts and executive reporting packs within strict deadlines.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
• Develop financial models to support business growth and decision-making.
• Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.

Compliance, Governance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, and industry regulations.
• Manage the application of IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
• Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and governance frameworks.
• Lead the annual audit process and manage relationships with external auditors.
• Oversee tax compliance, VAT submissions, and statutory reporting.

Operational Finance

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Drive finance process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Partner with operational leaders on key strategic initiatives and projects.

Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

Requirements

Qualifications

• CA(SA) or CIMA qualification is essential.
• Postgraduate finance qualification advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years' experience in a senior finance management position.
• Proven experience managing a full finance function.
• Strong financial reporting and technical accounting background.
• Practical experience with IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 is non-negotiable.
• Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.
• Experience managing external audits and regulatory compliance.
• Healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical services, or related industry exposure will be highly advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Strong financial reporting and analytical capabilities.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS and South African taxation.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• ERP systems experience.
• Strong controls, systems, and process improvement expertise.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong commercial acumen with a strategic mindset.
