SUMMARY:

A well-established fashion retailer is in search of a Finance Imports Controller to join their team. This role requires a pro-active and systematic individual. The suitable individual must have a sound knowledge of incoterms and working experience in the finance imports department for 5 years.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Review supplier shipment documents (Bill of Lading, packing list, invoices etc.)
Monitor, record and communicate the status and flow of shipments into the country
Complete the customs clearing instructions and ensure that all the necessary documentation is in place including 3rd party inspection reports where applicable
Obtain and review monthly shipping quotes
Review freight forwarding invoices and liaise with freight forwarder for amendments if required
Record all the necessary accounting entries related to imports and foreign suppliers
Pay all foreign suppliers
Submit claims to freight forwarder and / or insurance company for enroute losses / damages
Reconciling of foreign supplier accounts where required
Maintain all the necessary information with the company’s bank to ensure that SARB requirements are met
Filing of all import documentation in order to meet all SARB and SARS requirements
Ad hoc projects
