SUMMARY:
A Finance Administrator (Two Years Fixed Term Contract) position is available at our Client, Wits Health Consortium's Clinical Laboratory Services (CLS) in Braamfontein, Johannesburg

POSITION INFO:

Background

The Clinical Laboratory Services (CLS), is a division of the Wits Health Consortium (WHC) of the School of Pathology. CLS’s main purpose is to support the teaching and research activities of the School of Pathology through the provision of laboratory services, diagnostic and research advice and data management support in accordance with the standards of Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP).

CLS is an accredited laboratory and has a comprehensive quality management plan to ensure adherence to GCLP and its accreditation standards ensuring integrity of clinical laboratory for clinical trial study participant care. CLS has achieved on-going certifications for SANAS (South African National Accreditation System) ISO 15189 and GCLP Accreditation through the British Qualogy Group, and is also inspected by Division of AIDS (DAIDS) annually

Main purpose of the job:

  • To assist in the implementation of various finance related activities

Location:

  • Braamfontein

Key performance areas

  • Maintaining the billing system and ensuring that all billing is done timeously.
  • Generating invoices and account statements and ensuring that they are sent out to customers.
  • Performing account reconciliations.
  • Maintaining accounts receivable files and records.
  • Assist with producing monthly income reports to finance department.
  • Investigating and resolving any irregularities or enquiries.
  • Assisting in general financial management and analysis.
  • Post customer payments as per bank statement.
  • Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits.
  • Coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account and verifying totals.
  • Follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Attending to debtors’ queries as they arise.
  • Attention to detailed.
  • Assist with audit queries.
  • Office administration.

Required minimum education and training

  • Finance related diploma

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities

  • Sound knowledge of debtor’s procedures and credit control.
  • Working knowledge of the MediTech system
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and managers

Required minimum work experience

  • 2 Years debtors’ experience.
