Field Technician

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a skilled Field Technician to take on an exciting role commissioning, testing, repairing, and maintaining advanced battery systems (LV, HV, iESS, and turnkey) at customer sites locally and abroad. This position offers hands-on technical work, travel opportunities, and the chance to work independently while supporting cutting-edge energy solutions.

POSITION INFO:

Carry out repair, maintenance, diagnostics, and fault-finding on batteries
Conduct forensic investigations into failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence
Provide technical support at customer sites (local and international), including commissioning, and repair work on live battery systems up to 1000V
Liaise with Development and Production teams to communicate field issues and support ongoing product enhancements
Deliver complete battery support services such as recommendations and troubleshooting
Ensure effective customer service through telephonic, virtual, and onsite support
Accurately capture and close all work on the Support ticketing system and ERP modules, adhering to defined KPI targets for response and resolution times
Support administrative functions such as financial tracking, estimates, sales orders, SLA management, and logistics coordination
 
Skills & Experience:
Technical Diploma/Certificate or BTech– Electrical Engineering/ Electrician/Redseal/Wireman’s license and PV GreenCard will be beneficial
At least 3-5 years relevant technical experience
Funda[mentals of DC- and AC power
Renewable systems knowledge
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be physically fit and perform duties
Must be willing and able to travel occasionally, locally, regionally and internationally
Must be able to work and perform under pressure
Conflict Management Skills
