SUMMARY:
A recently rebuilt, luxury Big Five safari lodge in the Lowveld, bordering the Greater Kruger National Park, is seeking an experienced and passionate FIELD GUIDE to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
This is a hands-on guiding role suited to someone who thrives in a remote, walking-trails environment and takes genuine pride in sharing the bush with guests; the successful candidate will be comfortable leading both vehicle-based drives and walking safaris across a large, untamed reserve.

Core Criteria:

FGASA Level 1 qualification essential; Trails Guide qualification advantageous
Valid rifle competency and PrDP essential for Big Five walking trails
Proven guiding experience within a Big Five reserve
Strong working knowledge of flora, fauna, and ecological systems
Excellent guest interaction, storytelling, and communication skills
Valid driver's licence
Physically fit and comfortable leading extended walking trails

Core Responsibilities:

Conduct game drives and walking safaris for guests
Ensure guest safety throughout all activities
Maintain and service guiding vehicles and field equipment
Share knowledge of wildlife, ecology, and conservation with guests
Build rapport with guests to enhance their overall experience
Support reserve conservation and anti-poaching initiatives as required
Maintain accurate sighting logs and activity records
