SUMMARY:

Our client is looking for a driven and experienced External Sales Representative to grow their presence within the residential building and construction sector.

Our client specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of premium balustrades, staircases, handrails and pool enclosures for residential and commercial projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, building relationships with key industry professionals and growing the company's residential customer base.

POSITION INFO:

External Sales Representative

Industry: Construction / Residential Building
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: R15 000 – R18 000 basic per month + Commission

Main Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities within the residential building sector.
Build and maintain relationships with contractors, builders, architects, quantity surveyors, developers and other industry professionals.
Generate new leads and actively grow the residential client base.
Conduct regular site visits to assess client and project requirements.
Prepare and present quotations and proposals.
Follow up on quotations, leads and potential projects.
Manage the full sales process from initial enquiry through to order.
Build strong, long-term relationships with customers.
Achieve agreed sales targets.
Maintain an active sales pipeline and report on progress to the Sales Director.

Minimum Requirements

Matric essential.
Proven experience in an external sales / business development role.
Experience within the construction, building, architectural, steel, aluminium or related industry will be highly advantageous.
Strong new-business development and relationship-building skills.
Target-driven, motivated and comfortable working independently.
Confident dealing with contractors, architects, developers and professional clients.
Comfortable working with technical or building-related products.
Willing and able to conduct regular site visits.
Computer literate.
Valid driver's licence.
Own reliable vehicle essential.

Direct experience selling balustrades, staircases or handrails is not essential, provided the candidate has relevant construction or building-industry sales experience and is able to understand technical products.

Package & Benefits

Basic salary: R15 000 – R18 000 per month
Commission structure
Permanent employment
6-month probation period
Provident Fund membership after successful completion of probation
Company fuel card for business travel
Vehicle maintenance contribution
Cellphone and laptop provided

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 06:30 – 16:00, including a 30-minute lunch break.

Annual Shutdown

The company generally closes for an annual shutdown over December and January, normally from approximately 16 December to 10 January.
Exact dates may vary depending on operational requirements and will be communicated to employees in advance.
