Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electronic Security Systems Engineer to design, install, commission, and maintain electronic security systems across various commercial, industrial, and residential projects throughout Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive security solutions including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, Fire Alarms, Intercoms and integrated centralised security solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
- Install, configure, and commission CCTV systems (IP and analogue)
- Install and program access control systems including card readers, biometric systems, and electronic locks
- Install and configure intruder alarm systems and perimeter detection systems
- Install and configure fire alarm systems
- Set up and configure network infrastructure for IP-based security systems
- Integration of multiple security systems into unified management platforms
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant Irish and EU standards
Maintenance & Support
- Conduct preventive maintenance on existing security systems
- Diagnose and repair system faults and component failures
- Provide technical support to clients and end-users
- Perform system upgrades and software updates
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all work complies with IS EN 50131, IS EN 50132, and other relevant Irish/European standards
- Maintain PSA (Private Security Authority) licensing requirements
- Follow health and safety regulations and company safety procedures
- Ensure GDPR compliance for surveillance systems
Education & Qualifications
- Equivalent Ireland Level 6 qualification in Electronic Security Systems. OR related field experience
- Full clean driving licence
Technical Skills
- Minimum 3 years'' experience in electronic security systems
- Proficiency with IP networking and TCP/IP protocols
- Experience with major security brands (Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Honeywell, Bosch, etc.)
- Knowledge of analogue and IP CCTV systems
- Experience with access control systems and software platforms
- Understanding of intruder alarm systems and wireless technologies
- Competency in cable installation and termination (Cat6, coaxial, fiber optic)
- Basic electrical knowledge and safe working practices
Software & Tools
- Experience with video management software (Milestone, Genetec, etc.)
- Familiarity with access control software platforms
- Understanding of database management and basic programming concepts
Desirable Requirements
- Proficiency with system design software such as AutoCAD.
- City & Guilds electrical qualifications
- Experience with integrated security management systems
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems integration
- Fiber optic installation and termination certification
- Project management experience
