SUMMARY:
Qualified Electrician required for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing electrical and automated systems to ensure uninterrupted production operations.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

Qualified Electrician with a recognized Trade Test Certificate
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production or industrial environment (abattoir experience highly advantageous)
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, fault finding, and preventative maintenance
Experience with PLC systems (programming & fault finding) •
Experience working with abattoir/slaughter line equipment, conveyors, and processing machinery
Knowledge of refrigeration systems and cold room operations
Familiar with motor control centres (MCCs), VSDs/Drives, and control panels Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and standby when required
Own reliable transport

Duties and responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electrical and automated systems
Diagnose and resolve faults on PLCs, production lines, and processing equipment
Maintain and troubleshoot refrigeration, cold rooms, and temperature control systems
Ensure optimal performance of slaughter line equipment, conveyors, hoists, and machinery
Support installation, upgrades, and commissioning of equipment
Enforce health, safety, and food safety compliance
Reduce downtime and drive production efficiency
Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
