POSITION INFO:

1. Job Description Export Operations Specialist Job Criteria

Minimum Experienceo Minimum 5 years’ experience in International Export Operations / Freight Forwarding.

o Strong working knowledge of international export procedures,

customs requirements, airfreight and road freight operations.

o Experience managing end-to-end export shipments across multiple service types.

Key Responsibilities

o Manage all export shipments and services from origin through to destination.

o Vet, verify and process customs and transport documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and requirements at both origin and destination.

o Ensure cargo compliance for courier flights, airfreight and other air-related services.

o Manage cold-chain deliveries for healthcare clients in Johannesburg and Durban, ensuring temperature-sensitive cargo requirements are maintained throughout the shipment.

o Arrange and manage flight bookings and coordinate with airlines, agents and relevant service providers.

o Create and close system containers/shipments, ensuring transactions remain within approved customer credit limits.

o Manage DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) billing, including coordination of duties, taxes and associated charges.

o Manage high-value exports, including the coordination and arrangement of armed escorts and enhanced security measures where required.

o Prepare and issue pre-alerts to destination agents, ensuring all relevant shipment and documentation details are communicated timeously.

o Perform manual pre-costing to ensure accurate shipment cost calculations and profitability control.

o Prepare airfreight and road freight quotations, using both system-generated and manual quotation processes.

o Liaise with customers, airlines, customs authorities, transport providers, destination agents and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and compliant shipment execution.

o Monitor shipments and proactively resolve operational, documentation, customs or service-related exceptions.
