SUMMARY:
Draftsman required in Johannesburg, Gauteng, with practical AutoCAD Plant 3D experience in piping and equipment modelling, P&IDs, isometric drawings and orthographic documentation.

POSITION INFO:

We are recruiting a Draftsman (AutoCAD Plant 3D) for an opportunity in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on accurate plant and piping models and technical drawings in collaboration with the engineering team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and update 3D piping and equipment models using AutoCAD Plant 3D.

• Prepare and revise piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) from engineering information.

• Generate piping isometric drawings and orthographic plans, elevations and sections from Plant 3D models.

• Prepare plant layouts and general arrangement drawings, with clear dimensions, annotations and equipment identification.

• Work with piping specifications, component catalogues and project drawing standards.

• Produce and check material lists and drawing information against project requirements.

• Coordinate models and drawings with engineers and other disciplines, identifying inconsistencies for resolution.

• Maintain drawing revisions and incorporate approved changes and as-built information.

REQUIREMENTS

• Practical proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D is essential, supported by relevant plant or piping draughting experience.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D technical drafting.

• Relevant draughting, mechanical engineering or related technical qualification.

• Ability to read P&IDs, piping specifications and engineering drawings.

• Experience producing piping isometrics, orthographic drawings and coordinated 3D plant models.

• Strong attention to detail, drawing accuracy and document control.

• Ability to work effectively with an engineering team in Johannesburg.
