POSITION INFO:
An established engineering consultancy is seeking an Electrical Revit/BIM Draftsman for a permanent opportunity in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
THE ROLE
Prepare accurate electrical BIM models, drawings and construction documentation for commercial, industrial and building-services projects, working closely with engineers and other project disciplines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain electrical BIM models using Revit MEP Electrical.
• Prepare electrical layouts and documentation covering lighting, small power, HV/LV systems and cable containment.
• Produce drawings for generators, UPS systems, earthing, lightning protection and fire detection.
• Support multidisciplinary BIM coordination and clash detection.
• Create and maintain Revit families, schedules, sheets and project templates.
• Manage drawing revisions and prepare as-built documentation.
REQUIREMENTS
• Relevant electrical engineering or draughting qualification.
• At least 3 years’ relevant electrical BIM/draughting experience, ideally 3–5 years or more.
• Strong practical proficiency in Revit MEP Electrical and AutoCAD.
• Experience in electrical building-services modelling and documentation.
• Understanding of BIM coordination, families, templates and drawing standards.
• Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
REMUNERATION
CTC, depending on experience, qualifications and technical proficiency.
