Global Market Leader in the high-performance steel industry who deliver customized customer-specific solutions seek a Discharge Area Supervisor to carefully manage all AUTO activities or movement of billet in discharge area and operate the machine manually in case of equipment failure. Mill scale removal from scale pit, emptying outcrop end bucket. Diploma / ITI. Minimum 5 years of work experience

 

Accountabilities:

 

Checking the condition of all parts of the manual torch, Change the parts immediately whichever is hazardous or if disturbing the cutting flame of the manual torch

Before adjusting TCM online torch, Closing of Oxygen and NG main valve also close CRT Movable roll Pneumatic valve

Bringing the TCM to forward position till CRT Movable Roll

Adjusting the torch height and width according to section.

Height set – From the top surface of the product adjusting the torch at a height of 120 mm

Width setting - from the left side of the product adjusting the torch at the position of 45 mm away

Billet micro Samples are taken from an online torch from strand 1, for manual cutting of samples from strands other than strand 1, Engaging two gas cutters in cutting operation. The area opposite to the manual

billet cutting operation should be free from men. After the cut finishes putting off the torch and keep the torch on the stand. This will avoid injury to the fellow worker because of swinging of torch with flame

Using the billet holder during the cutting operation

Full chin cover helmet safety jacket, hand gloves are a must during the manual cutting operation

Putting off the cutting flame and keep the manual hand torch on the stand provided

The cutting roller table platform should be free from any obstacles and slipping materials.

Removing billet from machine

Using of walky-talky during all manual operations so as to communicate control room for isolation of the equipment’s as required

Watch  your steps while cutting and inspection as well as maintain 3 point contact if the handrail is available

Using guards to cover the billet/round while entering into the machine.

Using double safety trousers is mandatory before entering the machine

Spraying water undercutting to avoid any damage to equipment’s by splashes

From 4 legs of chain 3 legs are hooked up into the bail of chain and use 4th leg for lifting billet

After wrapping chain with billet, Evacuate the area and give a signal to the crane operator to lift the billet slowly and put billet on the designated area

Standing on the platform in between the strand During marking or identification of the product and never stand in strand pass line Operating  EOT Crane with battery pendant for bucket removal.

Picking the battery hand pendent and blow the alert siren

Checking the EOT 111 surrounding area both at top and bottom for any obstruction

Checking LT, CT, up and down movement

Then operating the EOT 111 carefully

Using always O Blong chain to pick End cut bucket. While transferring crop bucket ensure no man movement under Crop bucket

Using Chain with Minimum 40 T chain capacity to pick a bucket

Machine cleaning

Mill scale removing by water and while spraying water in W &S, standing only on the platforms provided in between strands and not on the strand pass line. Before entering into machine clear Giving clear information to control room

Before removing the mill scale from the Scale pit, checking the condition of the grab bucket

Working with contract manpower

Operating 1-2 casters with Common Discharge area

Avoiding mill scale accumulation in scale pit during both caster operations

Ensuring 100% Billet traceability

 

Interactions:

 

Shift in-charge/Shift Manager  - To work as per production plan

Maintenance Supervisor – To check total discharge area equipment and inform maintenance crew for rectification in case of equipment functional failure

Gas cutters – Guide gas cutters to continue production in case of equipment failure

Section in-charge CCM – For grievance’s  as well as training and development

Billet yard – Proper stacking of billets

External Auditors  - To check safety and production as per ISO standards
