SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Debtors and Creditors Clerk to join our team based in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full debtors and creditor’s function, ensuring accurate financial records, the timely processing of transactions, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of accounting processes.

POSITION INFO:
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Full debtors function, including invoicing, statements, collections, and account reconciliation
Full creditors function, including capturing invoices, reconciling supplier accounts, and processing payments
Follow up on outstanding accounts and ensure timely collections
Resolve account queries and discrepancies with clients and suppliers
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
Prepare the monthly age analysis reports for debtors and creditors
Assist with month-end closing procedures
Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures
Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12) – essential
Relevant financial qualification (Certificate/Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping) – advantageous
Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of debtors and creditors processes
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage, or similar)
Good understanding of Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
