Debtors Supervisor

SUMMARY:
An Internal Vacancy exists for a Debtors Supervisor in the Finance Division based in Centurion.
 
The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

POSITION INFO:

• Ensure accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures are processed accurately daily.
• Full Debtors and Collection function
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data.
• Verify discrepancies and resolve client billing issues
• Reporting problems to the Manager
• Ensure credit notes are authorized and processed
• Distribute age analysis to divisional executives
• Must be willing and able to travel to clients, when necessary, to resolve queries
• Assist team members with queries, reconciliations & controller training where necessary.
• Assist in preparing documentation referring to legal & keeping a record of documents.
• Compiling and reviewing assigned team of controllers, weekly comments as well as monthly
• Review of age analysis.
• Review of credit notes and workings before sent to debtor manager for approval.
• Assist with unknown deposit allocations.
• Responsible for the monthly forecast for debtors within division.
• Management of team leave planning and assigned relievers.
• Day to day management of team members.
• Assist debtors’ manager with ad-hoc requests as required
• Assist debtors’ manager with updating information on system and any projects to be implemented.

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification;
• Completed tertiary qualifications in Credit Management Level 5, B. Com degree or study towards will be advantageous
• Relevant 2 to 3 years’ experience dealing with clients and collections experience
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Accounting knowledge and experience compulsory
• Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to adhere to tight deadlines
• MS office essential and advanced working knowledge of Excel
• Ability to work under pressure
• Customer Service Orientation and negotiation skills
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record
• Required to work overtime during critical periods in Finance, especially during the month end and year end.
• Previous accounting experience is essential.
• Relevant experience in a similar position i.e., debt collection, credit control.
• Strong reconciliation skills.
• Relevant SAP experience will be advantageous
