Debtors Clerk

SUMMARY:
Take ownership of the full debtors function and keep cash flow moving!

POSITION INFO:
A well-established organisation in the Centurion area is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Debtors Clerk to join their finance team.
 
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Debtors / Credit Control and be confident managing the full debtors function independently, with strong collection, reconciliation and customer-query skills.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer accounts
• Allocate payments accurately to customer accounts
• Perform regular debtor reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies
• Follow up on outstanding and overdue invoices
• Contact customers regarding overdue accounts and payment arrangements
• Send statements, reminders and payment requests
• Handle customer queries relating to invoices, payments and account balances
• Investigate and resolve disputed invoices
• Prepare and monitor Debtors Age Analysis reports
• Report on collections, overdue accounts and outstanding debtor balances
• Monitor customer credit limits and payment terms
• Assist with credit applications and customer account reviews
• Reconcile the Debtors Control Account
• Assist with month-end accounts receivable procedures
• Ensure invoices and payments are accurately captured before month-end
• Maintain accurate debtor records and supporting documentation
• Assist the Finance Department with audits and general accounting duties
