Debtors Administrator

SUMMARY:
Company based in Vereeniging is looking for a Debtors Administrator ASAP.

POSITION INFO:

• Vetting of customers’ accounts & recommend account terms and limits for approval.
• Maintaining customer master files on SAP, filing of hardcopy applications and official communication to customers.
• Daily Management of customers’ accounts & communication to stakeholders on the status of accounts.
• Maintaining and managing the Income received in advance schedules daily & communication to stakeholders on the status of the register.
• Collection of outstanding customers’ accounts.
• Communication with customers via telephone, email and face to face where applicable.
• Daily communication with the bank for release funds into the CFC accounts.
• Accurate and timeous allocation of customer payments (tie in with processing administrator)
• Ensure that proper notes of collection are maintained on the SAP system.
• Updating cash flow with planned incoming funds.
• Calculation of interest on overdue accounts.
• Identifying which level of demand letter to send to customers with monthly statements.
• Sending out of monthly statements and demand letters.
• Resolving customer queries.
• Handing over of bad debt to debt collectors and management and follow up with debt collectors on debt handed over.
• Releasing of goods and services as delegated.
• Calculation of collection targets and forecasting of incoming funds for approval.

Job specifications and requirements:

• Grade 12 preferably with Accounting / Business Studies
• Diploma / Certificate in debt collection or higher
• Diploma or higher - Bookkeeping to Trial Balance
• Advanced Communication both verbal and written (letters/reports/dealing with a vast diversity of people)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excel Intermediate to advanced
• Other Microsoft applications - Intermediate
• Excellent computer skills
• Excellent numerical skills
• Organized working skills
• Attention to detail
• Time and deadline driven
• Team player
• SAP
• Minimum 3 years in a full function Debtors Administrator role
• Collections from foreign customers (UAE, Africa (including RSA), Europe, Asia and Australia)
• Application of the National Credit Act to collections where applicable
• Valid driver’s licence

Advantageous

• French and/ or Portuguese read and write
• SAP Business One experience
• Worked in an export environment
