Data Capture

POSITION INFO:

Assists with accurately capturing and processing paper and electronic source documentation to facilitate data review and analysis within a clinical trial setting. This role will involve file preparation and other administrative duties in maintaining data management processes.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• At least one year of experience in data capturing

Requirements

• Proficient computer skills
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office

Advantageous

• SA GCP certification
• Prior experience in clinical trials
• Familiarity with various Clinical Research Databases (e.g. REDCap, Nukleus, DFnet, IMedidata, THREAD, etc.)

Technical Responsibilities

• Adheres to SA GCP and other clinical trial regulations
• Creates study files and necessary documentation
• Records all received paper forms
• Reviews paper forms for completeness, accuracy, and consistency
• Accurately captures data from paper and electronic sources into a specific database, following Aurum's guidelines
• Verifies data from paper and electronic sources with previously captured information on the database
• Supports the data management team in all data management tasks
• Follows all data management SOPs, guidelines, and confidentiality agreements
• Completes daily time sheets
• Implements a filing system for study-related case report forms and other documentation

Duties

• Liaises with internal stakeholders to address any challenges

• Collaborates with internal stakeholders to find solutions or recommendations to improve productivity
• Communicates with external stakeholders as needed
• Logs all received paper forms in the in-house tracking system
• Organises and files study-related case report forms and other documentation 
• Implements approved solutions to enhance productivity
• Adheres to decision-making procedures

• Complies with all safety policies, practises, and procedures
• Reports any unsafe activities to senior management or HR
