SUMMARY:
Credit Controller

A well-established organisation is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Credit Controller to join its Finance team in Johannesburg.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the debtors book, ensuring timely collections, maintaining accurate financial records, resolving account queries and completing detailed reconciliations. The role also includes supporting e-commerce reconciliations and maintaining accurate debtor information.
The ideal candidate will have strong credit control and accounting experience, excellent reconciliation skills and hands-on SYSPRO experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and maintain the debtors book.
• Review customer payment status and payment commitments.
• Follow up on overdue accounts and outstanding payments.
• Implement account suspensions where applicable and in line with company policy.
• Handle debtor enquiries telephonically and via email.
• Investigate and resolve account queries.
• Maintain an accurate query-resolution register.
• Prepare and distribute debtor statements.
• Reconcile age analysis reports.
• Prepare reports on outstanding debtors.
• Recommend actions to improve collections and reduce risk.
• Capture and process daily account movements.
• Post and clear system and bank transactions.
• Clear suspense accounts.
• Ensure debtor balances are accurate and current.
• Complete detailed reconciliations of complex accounts.
• Reconcile and verify e-commerce sales across systems and reports.
• Verify relevant payments, incentives and inventory-related sales.
• Maintain accurate debtor records and filing systems.
• Provide support during annual audits.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or Degree in Finance or related field.
• 4–6 years’ Credit Control and/or Accounting experience.
• SYSPRO experience is essential.
• Strong complex-account reconciliation experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook and Word.
• Strong collections and debtor-management experience.
• Strong query-resolution ability.
